SALIENT
ASPECTS |
| Corporate
Management Support |
| The
Corporate Management of the Group is structured
to give maximum management support to the flagship
of the Group, the Project Engineering Services
Unit (PES). |
Technical
Staff |
The PES Unit’s main strength is derived from
the experienced and dedicated engineers who
form the core of the operation. The
engineers and supervisors are totally committed
to the main objective of the Company, viz.
Customer satisfaction. |
Infrastructure
Having been in the business since 1974, Teejan
has a well established infrastructure for
execution of operations. We have a modern
office set up, a central storage yard, transport
division with a fleet of heavy vehicles and
earth moving equipments, and carpentry and
steel fabrication shops. The offices
located at Ghala are fully computerised |
Project
Execution
The most important aspect of the PES Unit
is the meticulous planning and monitoring
of the project activities to ensure timely
completion of the projects. As soon
as the work order is received the Planning
Engineering group along with the Project Engineering
group prepare detailed work schedules, store
projection and cost estimates. A manual
for the site management acts as the guide
for the engineers to ensure quick mobilisation
of the site, starting of the main project,
placement of wherewithal at site, monitoring
and review of the activities. Health,
Safety & Environment (HSE) operations
as well as QA/QC activities are simultaneously
enforced.

Tradesmen
The
company has on its rolls a large number of
tradesmen who are highly skilled in various
functions. Motivation being an integral
part of the quality control process, the company
has incentive schemes for skilled tradesmen
who excel in their performance. |
Wide
Customer Base
Teejan has been working with Government, Semi
Government as well as private agencies and
has a very wide customer base in the market. |
Training
and Development |
We
have laid great emphasis on conducting in-house
and on the job training for all our personnel.
All new personnel are put through a rigorous
induction/training programme and are also
given practical training so that the quality
of work does not fall below the prescribed
standard. |
Data
Base |
We
have vast experience in a variety of construction
jobs. Over a period of time, we have
established a wide data base of the product
ranges and latest techniques which is accessible
to our engineers/ supervisors. |
Quality
Assurance/Control
We
have given great emphasis to ensure that only
excellent quality materials are used in the
works. We have a system of quality assurance
of using only the correct material specified
which in turn is further verified by regular
site visits, testing procedures and regular
follow ups so that the client gets the best
value for his money. |
Quality
Services |
Teejan’s
PES Unit has a Quantity Surveying section
which attends to pre-tender analysis of projects
taken up for bidding and post-tender monitoring
of all projects which eventually come up for
execution. |
Health,
Safety & Environment (HSE)
One
of the prime parameters in the operational
set up is the HSE aspect. All personnel
are indoctrinated in the essential features
of HSE requirements and a strict watch is
kept at various levels to ensure that instructions
are enforced rigidly in this regard.
Management insists on good house keeping at
all construction sites and special awards
are given periodically to encourage personnel
in maintaining the standards. |
| |
Teejan
Quality Management System (TQMS)
TQMS
has been developed to ensure that requirement
for all critical activities are clearly identified,
recognised, understood and agreed by all staff
involved.
The
Quality Policy statement encompasses the guiding
principles in Teejan’s quest for quality and
growth.
The
system ensures that necessary management and
control systems for particular activities
are in place, complying with the agreed requirements. Q.A
and H.S.E policies are framed and implemented
in the company in phases. |
